We’re a team of plant-passionate people cultivating our lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Collectively, we are Plant Moms to over 150 healthy houseplants, are constantly tending over a dozen home gardens, and, together, we help others transform their surroundings with greenery and growth.

Our Founder.
Gardening is Racquel’s medicine. From her earliest years growing dahlias and green beans with her grandfather Ray to her first job in a neighborhood garden center at 14, she discovered that spending time with plants and soil invigorated her physically and mentally. After over a decade working in the garden industry and a degree in environmental design from the University of Minnesota, she founded Tonic Plantscape Design in 2017 to help spread the medicine of surrounding ourselves with nature. When Racquel isn’t gardening you can find her camping, cooking her harvest, snowboarding, interior decorating, and studying herbal medicine.

Meet the team.
Passionate about nurturing living things—from over 100 houseplants to her two dogs, Murphy and Pancho—Alanna heads up Tonic’s interior plant design and maintenance. Each week, you’ll find her popping around town visiting every clients’ plantscapes to ensure they are healthy and thriving. With a background in the music industry, Alanna also brings the dopest playlists to all of Tonic’s gardening projects.
